Best Fashion Trends of 2012
Now that the year is coming to a close, here is the list of the best trends of the year. Colored and printed skinny jeans were one of my favorite trends of the year, it was nice to get away from basic denim once in a while. I was also happy to see colorblocking continue. I just love being able to mix and match colors in new bold ways, it’s so much fun and a brand new way to look at your closet. Whether it was on dresses, pants, shirts or leggings, leather was incorporated into your look. I also loved the peplum and animal prints. What do you think…

2012 Found Inner & Outer Beauty
This year I met a lot of beautiful people in the skincare, makeup and hair industry. I also dove into learning more about what was in the products that I put on myself. Just like food, many cosmetic companies are putting harmful ingredients into their products, but there also a lot of great technological ingredients to help slow down the aging process. 🙂 Earlier this year, I was honored to meet Kate of Kate Somerville. She brought DermalQuench Liquid Lift (youth in a bottle) to the Neiman Marcus & Nordstrom! Just because you are not a celebrity, does not mean you cannot get the celebrity treatment. Regifting Done Right!
Regifting has been given a bad wrap. I am here to rebrand the term and define regifting as “one present at a time can help give to others around the world.” There’s something extra special about giving a gift that has a special meaning. But giving a gift that also makes our world a better place? This is what this season is all about! Choosing Shoes…Chooze shoes (started by a local mom) has an antipoverty mission that aims to inspire creativity while selling some pretty cute kicks (from $45). Made of cotton and 100% vegan materials, the shoes are vibrant and whimsical, and no two are the exactly the same.…

From Russia With LUBLU
Meet Kira Plastinina, a SMU student who is ahead of the game with her own fashion line LUBLU Kira Plastinina. Plastinina, who showed her designs at Milan Fashion Week at the ripe age of 16, has created a line for jet-setting and trailblazer women, much like the 21 year-old herself. The amazing and detailed clothes offer fun party attire in bright colors and flattering cuts, like this Graphic Space Plaid Canvas Bomber Jacket. I am in love with her LUBLU collection, which means “I love you” in Russian. From a yellow knit sweater with intricate detailing to a vibrantly gem-colored blue-and-yellow print dress, everything here is fabulous. Plus, Plastinina designs everything with only…

Highland Park Village Shines Bright Like a Diamond
Did you know that Highland Park Village opened in 1931? It was the first outdoor mall in the nation and has served as the model for many to come. An architectural melange of Spanish, Mediterranean and Mexican styles, it houses upscale shops and restaurants populate the space, including Escada, Diane von Furstenberg, Robert Talbott, Anne Fontaine and Harry Winston. Last week, Highland Park Village (HPV) hosted a holiday blogger event. I was honored to be amongst the invited bloggers to attend the event. Before sipping on delicious juices from Number One/Le Jus and enjoying bites created by Café Pacific’s chef, we sauntered around HPV enjoying their light display and found some perfect…
