Van’s Natural Foods Honey Berry Waffle Recipe and Giveaway
Is your family bored with their breakfast choices? Van’s Natural Foods offers the perfect healthy breakfast option, and below I have include a favorite brunch item in our house. A favorite breakfast treat for my kids on school days are Van’s Minis Totally Natural. They are now made with 100% whole grains, making them an even healthier choice for breakfast or snack time. Serving suggestions for the waffles, which are an excellent source of calcium and contain no high fructose corn syrup.
Van’s Power Grains Waffles pack 10 grams of protein per serving. They’re made with 16 grams of whole grains, including cracked red wheat, steel cut oats, millet and brown rice. With natural flavors and a hint of cinnamon, Power Grains Waffles taste light and fluffy – while bringing a full third of the average adult’s recommended daily intake of whole grains.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup fresh berries, divided (Raspberries, California strawberries and blueberries work well.)
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup honey
1 box of Van’s Power Grains, Gluten-Free Ancient Grains or Organic Waffles
Puree 1/2 cup berries in a blender; set aside. In a small saucepan over medium heat, add water and honey and bring to a boil; simmer 2 to 3 minutes, then add berry puree. Continue to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes more until syrup thickens slightly. Set honey syrup aide and keep warm.
For each serving, place 2 waffles on plate. Top 1 waffle with 1/3 cup fresh berries. Drizzle with 1/3 of syrup and top with remaining waffle.
