Sea Life Aquarium Grows Octopuses

I’d like to be under the sea
In an octopus’ garden in the shade
He’d let us in, knows where we’ve been
In his octopus’ garden in the shade

This classic Beatle’s song plays as you enter Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine‘s new exhibit called of course “The Octopus Garden.” It’s an educational hands-on experience, and a giant Pacific octopus named Eleanor is the main attraction. I got an up-close view of Eleanor in her habitat.

Sea Life Aquarium is a 45,000 square foot facility located inside of the Grapevine Mills Mall, and filled with all kinds of creepy, crawly, underwater creatures. The Octopus Garden curator Karen Riffenberry said that the aquarium prides itself on being both entertaining and educational. “We want to make it fun,” she said. “We want to create that interactive experience and bring the ocean home.”

With five new display tanks, the exhibit features a Giant Pacific Octopus, Zebra Octopus, Pharaoh Cuttlefish and Chambered Nautilus. The Octopus Garden also includes: a hide-and-seek octopus game, an octopus memory quiz, octopus maze activity and two new educational presentations. This exhibit will be here for a year, so head Grapevine and get sucked into The Octopus Garden.

Tickets for Sea Life Aquarium are $19 for adults and $15 for children ages three to 12.

We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I’d like to be under the sea
In an octopus’ garden with you.
