Pick Murder Mystery Dinner Theater for Your Next Event!
Food, fun, and murder all in one live-action murder mystery party! My family and I decided to try something new for a holiday outing recently and went to The Murder Mystery Company’s production of “The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year” in Dallas. It was so fun and something different for our family to do together besides the usual movie we go to together. As soon as we walked in the door (after we took our fun Murder Mystery pic together of course) we were interacting with some of the quirky and definitely suspicious characters/suspects in the soon to be “murder” mystery production.
If you’ve never been to a Murder Mystery Theater Dinner event here’s the scoop: It’s basically a two hour dinner party (you enjoy a delicious three course meal) while the live action theater plot unfolds and a murder is committed right before your eyes (in a funny way). You then have the opportunity to mingle and interview the characters and suspects. Think of it as a live game of Clue and you get the idea. Each table is given a team name and a profile. We were TMZ Reporters and our goal throughout the night was to be obnoxious and take lots of photos WITH the flash on to irritate everyone around us – lol! Trying to figure out all the twists and turns of the game and gather clues with your team makes it both fun and a challenge. My husband was picked to be one of the suspicious characters and being the big ham that he is, he was in his element! My 21 year old son loved that the audience got to interact with the players and help solve the crime. And yes The TMZ Reporters solved the crime correctly and expertly (which was a good thing because my family is very competitive) but they definitely make it a challenge to figure it all out.
The Mystery Company makes the whole experience even more fun by encouraging you to dress for the theme (we wore ugly Christmas sweaters for our production) and that definitely made it more of a festive atmosphere. The actors also do a great job of staying in character throughout the night so that creates a very theatrical element to the evening.
Murder Mystery Dinner Theater is the perfect thing to do with the family (rated PG-10), date night, girl’s night out, marriage party, birthdays, and anniversaries. The Mystery Company also offers parties for privately hosted parties (they will come to you) and corporate events! I strongly advise adding this experience to your “must do” list!
The next theme is “Death of a Gangster” a 1920’s Mafia Marriage Murder Mystery and dates are:
Friday, January 25th @ 7:00 PM
