Many Flavors of Chocolate
For Valentine’s Day, many people choose chocolate as their gift of choice, but the question is which flavor should you purchase. As a food writer, I have had the honor to taste some sweet bites and explore outside my comfort zone. 😉
SALT: Vosges’s Mo’s Dark Bacon Bar. The creamy chocolate tempers its bacon flavor with the bitterness of dark chocolate with a savory bite.
FRUIT: Dr. Sue’s Cherry Pecan Handmade Chocolate Bark. This features Texas pecans, delicately spiced with ancho chile and paired with organic dried cherries.
CARAMEL: See’s Double Caramel. Rich chocolate butter caramel and vanilla caramel, finished with a wonderfully smooth milk chocolate coating.
COFFEE: Green & Black Espresso Bar. The dark chocolate is rich and creamy. With the coffee flavor, you will enjoy this bold bar.
HERBS: Ghiradelli Dark & Mint Filled Bar. Your taste buds first taste the chocolate followed by a subtle mint creamy flavor. It is a refreshing chocolate bar.
SPICE: Pacari’s Chili Bar. Chile peppers in chocolate have been the trend lately. This bar has a mild heat made with merkén, a traditional South American seasoning blend that contains smoked chile, coriander, and salt.
NUTS: Dude, Sweet Chocolate Crack in a Box. If you are a nut lover but a purist this is the one.
Which bar do you love? Which one would you be willing to explore?
