Sissy’s Has Soul & Style

In the South, there are many terms used that are misunderstood by others not from the area. Unfortunately, this is usually in a negative way. Lisa Garza wants to set the record straight. Today, she is open Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar. Sissy is a nickname given to girls to indicate their role in the family, especially the oldest female sibling. It is a term of affection. In Southern usage, bubba is a nickname given to boys, especially eldest male siblings, to indicate their role in a family. The nickname is a term of endearment. Sissy’s Southern Kitchen feel like you’ve come to eat with your sister aka Lisa Garza and your brother aka Jeffery Hobbs.

As soon as you walk through the bright yellow door, you feel like you’ve enetered a Southern Colonial home. Think comfortable, yet elegant. There dining room seats 100 of “your closest friends and family.” 😉 Brown and white Spode Delamere China paired with mix-and-match silves give the feel of a treasured family collection.

Dishes that I admired from Sissy’s includes family favorites:
Deviled Eggs, Squash Puppies & Pickled Gulf Shrimp

Sissy’s Fried Chicken with Cream Biscuits and Corn Bread Muffins

Cookies
What I loved about Sissy’s is that you feel like you are at home. So, let me know if you want to get together…have a good time…and walk away feeling like you ate with family!
