What do you like to cook or make in the kitchen?
Honestly, I wish I had more time and willpower to be more creative in the kitchen. Between our busy lifestyle and one very picky teenage, I stick to easier recipes that I can make quickly and will please everyone. I make lots of different pasta dishes, chicken, and some good old southern family recipes. I hate to admit it, but we probably eat out more than we should. I love to dine out and try new restaurants!!
What is your “comfort food” or type of restaurant that you most frequent?
Mexican, Mexican, and more Mexican is definitely my comfort food. I love to check out restaurants that have interesting, well-designed interiors and offers a variety of menu choices. I really enjoy trying out the new, hip restaurants in Dallas to find out what all the buzz is about!
What’s your favorite color?
It’s always been blue and right now I’m in love with “Electric” Blue. As a blue eyed blonde it’s really my color but if you looked in my closet you would think black since I own so many black clothing items!! Black is my “go to” color for almost every dress up occasion.
What’s you “mom uniform” – typical outfit in the day?
Usually skinny jeans with a cute top/sweater and sandals or boots. In cooler weather I love to throw on a colorful scarf. I’m not a t-shirt and sweats kind of girl. I like to get up in the morning and dress for the day. I feel better and am more energized when I’m pulled together. What languages do you speak?
English – with a few words of Spanish and French. One of my big regrets is that I cannot speak a second language. My dream has always been to be able to speak fluent French.
Do you prefer to hike up the mountains or relax on the beach?
Definitely the beach. The sound of the waves and the sand between my toes soothes my soul. I like to lounge and stare at the water for hours and think about life or nothing at all. The experience is like a detox for me. I need at least one to two trips to the beach a year or I get very cranky.
What is your happiest family’s memory?
Taking my sons to Disneyworld for the first time on their 5th Birthday. The trip was truly magical (no pun intended!). Seeing my sons’ experience the Disney Parks for the first time and see the awe and wonderment on their sweet, innocent faces still makes me smile when I think about it. It is simply a perfect memory that I will never forget and would not trade for a million dollars.
