What do you grab for your kid to help prevent dehydration? Pedialyte? The other day, I was organizing my pantry and double-checking the ingredients like I always do, and I was so angry at the horrible ingredients! Here are the ingredients in the strawberry flavor: Water, dextrose, citric acid, potassium citrate, sodium chloride, sodium citrate, natural flavor, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, zinc gluconate, RED 40, BLUE 1. Dextrose is usually made from corn starch, which brings to mind GMOs, pesticides, etc. Sucralose…*sigh* Do I even have to say anything about this ingredient?! I would NEVER want anyone I love to ingest that.
Once I got over the shock of the chemicals that were put in a children’s liquid, I realized that the answer is COCONUT WATER! I had it at home all this time. Coconut water has electrolyte content and rehydrating properties, and it is posh kid approved. Did you know that there is 100x more potassium in coconut water than Gatorade?! I love how Central Market 100% Coconut Water is harvested at the peak of quality, the coconuts are picked, produced and the product is packaged within 24 hours of harvest.
We stick mainly with plain water around this house, but if the kids want something with a little more flavor OR they feel a warm forehead or hear a cough, we’ll be sticking with the coconut water! I hope this helps, and don’t forget to read labels before you give to your kids!

I have this serious addiction to coconut water. lol I had to cut myself off of it during my last shopping trip. I LOVE coconut water, and I love Central Market and their brand of high quality products. I’m sure their coconut water is absolutely delicious. Maybe when I take myself off of restriction, I’ll pick some up for myself as a special treat..
