2014 Kia Sorento Powers Up the Crossover SUV

IMG_6483Recently, I have enjoyed test driving different models of Kia. This past week, I drove the 2014 Kia Sorento EX. The first thing that I noticed as I drove the Sorento was how much power it had. On the highway down to San Antonio to driving the city streets of Dallas, it was a comfortable and spacious ride for everyone in the car. The Sorento is exceptionally quiet with a scarcity of road noise and rides nicely. Its handling and steering are far from sporty, which I prefer.
IMG_6481The 2014 Kia Sorento is definitely a must-see, especially if you need a crossover SUV. I averaged 24 MPG, and I didn’t have to make any gas stops for our 5 hour road trip, well other than to the Czech Stop, but that was for the kolaches and klobasniks. When navigating the confines of a parking spot, the Sorento feels smaller than it really is because it maneuvers very well.
SorentoInterior The Sorento EX has automatic headlights, keyless ignition/entry, rear parking sensors, ambient interior lighting, rear-seat sunshades, Kia’s Uvo voice activation system, a rearview camera and dual-zone automatic climate control. This feature would have to be one that I would ALWAYS prefer. In Texas, the summer heat can take a beating on the inside temperature of the vehicle. The air-conditioned dual seats allow the front riders to enjoy the driver comfortably.

IMG_6657Since this Sorento EX has the Touring Package, it also had a power liftgate, a blind-spot-monitoring system, ventilated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen display, a navigation system, a 10-speaker Infinity surround-sound system and a panoramic sunroof. My kids REALLY enjoyed this feature as they could “see the planes and the clouds.” With the V6 power, plenty of features and a roomy interior, the 2014 Kia Sorento EX is a great option for shoppers who want something a bit bigger than the typical small crossover.
