PoPaLiCiouS Paletas Pass Posh Kids’ Test

If you know me or follow me, you know I love food, and not just any food – quality, delicious goodies. I’m always looking for cool and healthy summer treats, and I have found the jackpot 🙂 They are called paletas from PoPaLiCiouS.

Paletas are fruit pops sold in Mexico. These treats were some of my favorites when my family would go to Mexico to visit. Unlike fruit “flavored” popsicles, paletas have big juicy chunks of fruit in them and have no additional ingredients like corn syrup, soy lecithin, etc. My favorite as a child was always pineapple or coconut with big chunks of the fruit inside. Yum!

This week, my taste buds experienced this delicious treat RIGHT HERE in Dallas. I didn’t have to have a passport to enjoy this frozen sweet. PoPaLiCiouS’ paletas are made in Dallas! Fruit flavors cost $3.50 each and include: Fresh Watermelon, Cantaloupe, LimĂłn (Lime), Pure Pineapple, Chile-Fruit (fresh fruits with a spicy kick!), Tamarind and the exotic Hibiscus-Mint. Dessert pops cost $4 and include: Bella Banana, Rice Pudding, Pretty Pecan, Creamy Coco, Mango Mami, Whipped Strawberry and Cookies and Cream. By the way, if you buy a dozen or more, the price of the paletas goes down as much as $6. As the famous saying goes: “The more, the merrier.”

My kids’ favorites were Watermelon, Pure Pineapple, Whipped Strawberry and Cookies and Cream. Yes, the Cookies and Cream taste like the ice cream, but on a stick – convenient & NOT messy 🙂 My favorite was Watermelon, Tamarind (very refreshing on these 100 degree days) and Rice Pudding. The Rice Pudding reminded me of frozen horchata.

You can order these delicious frozen treats by e-mailing orders@mypopalicious.com. Unsure if your family will like paletas, you are always welcome to taste before you buy 🙂

Starting today until June 24, 2011, when you call or e-mail to your paletas order, mention “RealPoshMom” for 50 cents off each one if you buy individually or an additional $2 off a dozen totaling an $8 savings. Come on! I know you want want to try…at least, I know the kids do.
