Fall in "LOAF" with Tillamook

When I tasted a Tillamook Cheese for the first time, I was fully and completely smitten. This is what Tillamook calls “Loaf Love.” Everyone deserves a chance to “fall in Loaf” with award-winning cheese – that’s why they created the Tillamook Loaf Love Tour. With the mission of delivering tasty Tillamook Cheese to the people, the Loaf Love Tour drives around in this irresistibly-adorable 1966 VW “Baby Loaf Bus.” You don’t want to miss seeing this “bus” in person. It will be coming to Dallas, Texas on March 10, 2012. Mark you calendar for some cheesy family fun at the Dallas Zoo!

As you wait until March 10, try making this Queso from Top Chef Season 5 Winner Hosea Rosenberg.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (8 oz) Tillamook Monterey Jack, cubed
  • 1 cup (4 oz) Tillamook Medium Cheddar, cubed
  • 2 jalapeño, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 red onion, diced
  • 1 T fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 Roma tomato, chopped
  • 1 dash of cayenne pepper
  • 3 dashes Tabasco sauce

Preheat oven to 450F. Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl, then arrange in a terracotta or stone baking dish.

Bake in oven until the cheese is thoroughly melted, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool for 2-3 minutes, then enjoy immediately. Gather friends and family and serve as a dip with your favorite bag of tortilla chips.
